Elizabeth and John's actions in Act 2 The ratio of the plate?
I know that their relationship is tense, but I'm not sure what you want say by their actions … is the question of my teacher wants us the answer: John and Elizabeth Proctor reveal their characters through speech and the action of Act 2. As a reader, Do you think his behavior at the end of the event is surprising, given what has happened before. Explain why you find his actions at the end of the act and it is surprising or predictable. please help!
We could that this behavior is surprising because they were so near that point. For example, the conversation between them during the dinner is quite awkward. Could play as a couple that sticks with each other and trying to make the best of a bad situation. John is just going through the motions during dinner, and Elizabeth do can not wait for the right thing when (ironically) forgets to mention the broken commandment. Alternatively, could argue that his actions at the end of the act are predictable because throughout the event, they're trying to reconnect with each other. Juan hidden his dislike for cooking Isabel does not want to start a fight. Elizabeth with the recitation of the commandments because he wants to help. When trouble comes in the door, John and Elizabeth band and to support each other against a common enemy. In the end, you might think that Miller has written a brilliant script that has a director and actors to interpret the lines in a variety of ways, depending on how people wanted to see and discover.
